Booking Terms & Conditions | Dwarskersbos Accommodation
We know this isn’t the most exciting reading material, but by paying your deposit, you’re basically giving us a “virtual high-five” and agreeing to these terms.
Booking and Payment Terms
Deposits: A 50% deposit is required within 24 hours to confirm your booking.
Outstanding Balance: The balance must be settled no later than 14 days prior to check-in.
Short Notice: Bookings made less than 14 days before arrival must be paid in full to be confirmed.
Documentation: To finalize your booking, guests must complete a personal information form and submit a copy of their ID document.
Property Fees: Please note that an administration fee, cleaning fee, or other property-specific fees may apply depending on the house you book.
Payment Methods: The guest is responsible for all additional bank charges resulting from international transfers or cash deposits (ATM or teller).
Cancellation Policy
Cancellations must be made in writing. We kindly ask guests to review the specific cancellation policy for the house they wish to book, as policies vary by property. No cancellation or amendment will take effect until we have received your written request.
Check-in and Check-out
Check-in and check-out times differ by property; please check the specific listing for details. Key collection instructions will be shared by the property owner or manager before your arrival. We kindly request that you respect these times. Please plan ahead to avoid any access issues or a late departure fee.
Guest Limits & Behavior
Please ensure the number of guests is correct, as only booked guests are permitted to use the property and its amenities. This helps us ensure comfort and compliance for everyone. If the house is rented at a per-person rate, only the rooms required for the number of booked guests will be available; unused rooms will remain locked.
To maintain a peaceful environment, no loud music, excessive noise, parties, or day visitors are permitted. We appreciate your cooperation in keeping Dwarskersbos relaxed and enjoyable for all. We reserve the right to cancel your booking immediately without a refund if these terms are breached, and you will be asked to leave the property.
House Rules
Before booking, we encourage you to review the specific rules outlined in each property’s listing. However, the following standard rules apply to all homes:
Smoking: Smoking (including vaping) is strictly prohibited inside the property. Any evidence or odour of smoke will result in the full forfeiture of the breakage deposit.
Departure: Before departing, ensure all windows are closed, doors are locked, and the alarm is activated.
Dishes: Please wash and put away all dishes before departure. Unwashed dishes are not covered by the standard cleaning service and will incur an additional fee.
These rules are in place to ensure a pleasant stay for both guests and owners.
Breakage Deposit
A breakage deposit may be required; the specific amount and refund process may vary from property to property. However, the following standard rules apply to all bookings:
Refunds: If applicable, the deposit will be refunded within 14 working days after departure, once the property has been inspected and no damages are found.
Deductions: In the unlikely event of damage, we reserve the right to deduct cleaning, repair, or replacement costs if the property, furnishings, or linens (including towels) are left dirty, damaged, missing, or irreparably stained.
Liability: Should costs exceed the deposit, the booker remains personally responsible for the balance.
Pet Policy
Before booking, please confirm if the house is pet-friendly. For approved stays, the following rules apply:
Furniture & Beds: Pets are strictly not allowed on furniture or beds. Please bring their own beds. If your pet is accustomed to sleeping on the bed, you must bring your own bedding.
Supervision: Pets may not be left alone on the premises and may not disturb neighbours.
Cleaning: Please help us keep the yard and house clean—we appreciate it if the only thing you leave behind are good memories, not hair or “surprises” in the garden.
Leash: Pets must remain on a leash outside the premises in accordance with HOA and municipal rules.
Failure to comply: May result in the breakage deposit being partially or fully withheld.
Liability Disclaimer and Force Majeure
While every effort is made to ensure a safe and enjoyable stay, the accommodation provider cannot accept responsibility for any death, personal injury, loss, or damage to guests or their belongings (including items left behind).
The accommodation provider will also not be held liable for any failure to meet obligations due to circumstances beyond their control, including natural disasters, pandemics, government restrictions, municipal electricity outages (loadshedding), water supply issues, or intermittent internet and cell phone signal.
Amendments to Terms
The accommodation provider reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions when necessary. By completing your booking, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these terms and conditions.
